Enchanted Forest- Amanda & Josh

Wedding and event planning has led us to meeting many great new people, but with this wedding, we had a chance to reunite with old friends. Not only was this group fun to be around, they were also super helpful with reaching tall places and lifting heavy things! Mom and I are known for many things, but upper body strength is not one of them.

Josh and Amanda, God love them, are outdoorsy. I believe not only should a wedding reflect the bride, but also the groom. So guess what? We mixed pink flowers and turkey feathers, and it was absolutely gorgeous! Logs and petunias at the end of the aisle for the ceremony, the perfect mix of outdoorsy and romantic.

Josh and Amanda chose a beautiful, but hot day on July 5th for their “I dos”. This date was extra special for mom since 29 years earlier, she had also chosen a beautiful, but hot July 5th to get married. Amanda and Josh chose the Daydream Venue in Ridgley, WV for both ceremony and reception. As with all Sarah K Events’ weddings, we believe it should be an experience as soon as the guest leaves the car. We placed signs, flowers, and crates along the path to the ceremony. Unfortunately, we did experience some rain earlier in the afternoon.BUT, the AH-mazing groomsmen helped us wipe down the chairs, and reset up the ceremony site. Just look how amazing they are below:

Since it was a beautiful day, they held the ceremony outside with mountain scenery in the background. The Ceremony was filled with personal touches from the groomsmen walking down the aisle to “Country Roads” to Josh and Amanda nailing down an Anniversary box. The ceremony was performed by Josh’s Uncle Buddy, and was my favorite kind, short and sweet. After the ceremony, while the bridal party took pictures with photographer Cindy Twigg, the guests came inside to enjoy the cocktail hour. To stick with their theme, Amanda & caterer, Wing and a Prayer, had the cocktails overflowing from crates and barrels.

Amanda was a bride after my own heart, we decorated with pink flowers with navy and gold accents. After trial mock-ups, we found the perfect look for her Enchanted Forest Wedding. We used moss on wood chargers to make the table feel like we were out in nature. Then for her centerpieces, we placed turkey feathers in with the flowers, a tribute to their passion of hunting. Amanda had a vision for her sweetheart table which we were able to create and stay within her theme. Dad built Sarah K a new backdrop (he is the best) and we double upped tablecloths to create this soft look. I love making any flower arrangements, but the gold bowls were my favorite! I mean, just look at those turkey feathers.

DJ Everline lend the reception with excellence for the major highlights of the evening. The guests enjoyed cake and cupcakes from Julie Landis, and laughed at toasts by MOH Miranda, and Best Man, Trevor. Drinks were poured and a great time was had by all. The evening was ended perfectly by a sparkler send off.
